I'm the director of the Middle School Public Debate Program (MSPDP), the world's largest program for organized debating in the middle grades. We help teachers to organize class and contest debates on all kinds of different topics using tested and innovative methods designed to combine rigor and accessibility. I believe that, done properly, debate can be a tool of tremendous transformation as it helps students to both understand the world and feel empowered to change it for the better.

I work at Claremont McKenna College, in Claremont, California. I'm also a Ph.D. student in the School of Educational Studies at Claremont Gradiate University.
